Why is there not a place where you can rent Music CDs?
You know how there's a Netflix & Blockbuster for movie rentals and a Gamefly for video game rentals, so why isn't there one for music cds?
Is it because of some legality issues? The first person with the best "legal" explanation to this will get the points.
In case if there IS such a place that does music CD rentals, can you point me to your source?
It is common sense that public libraries loan out music CDs. Perhaps some of you just answered this question for the points benefit, but never thought it out first. Next time, please think before posting your answers. Because it lowers your credibility when you answer questions just to answer them and could careless if it's right or wrong. I wish they had an IQ filter where if somebody with a lower IQ, their answers would not show up at all.
I don't know if it is because it would be illegal but its because you could just rent it and copy the songs off the cd and return it instead of buying the album. Thats why you can't return an opened cd because you could have opened it, burned the music off it, and return it and get your money back. The music industry wouldn't be making money this way.
The reason why they have movie rentals though is because most movies are copy protected meaning you can't burn the movie off of it.

What's the best way to get movies? Video store? Download? Online rental? Walmart?
Please be specific.
Most convenient and cost effective way is through online rental. I've tried Netflix and Blockbuster Online simultaneously (head-to-head) and Blockbuster is much better pound for pound.
I pay $17.99 a month and I get usually 6-12 movies per week. I also get the newest releases AT Blockbuster using the weekly coupon they send me for a free rental. It's AWESOME.
Here's the promo code I used to get a free trial month:
Code – 40037

Why does Comcast dislike gamers?
Consider all three of the new consoles, between demos being released weekly, game videos most of which are in hi def (720 or 1080), Downloadable full games, such as burnout and warhawk, with more to come. Xbox live has a huge number of arcade games, PS3 is rapidly growing, and the Wii has been steadily increasing also. Even the PSP, a portable system has full games for download.
On top of that PS3 recently received their video rentals, many of which are hi def, and Xbox360 had a huge library of rentals almost from the get-go.
I don’t think Comcast took gamers into account when it considered the cap that they recently instated.
Anybody with a way to measure bandwidth usage and at least one of these consoles, I would be curious to see what the monthly average is for a console owner. Especially if you have roommates who also own computers. Which brings up another point, comcast apparently hates having more than one person using the same line. I can hear it now, a family of four “Sorry joey, it’s Suzies turn to get online tonight.” Does anyone else get flashbacks to pre-dsl days?
I know I use way lot more than what Comcast gives, so that’s why I use Verizon.
I think Comcast is doing it to get people to put up a private access instead of leaving it open for everyone to steal.
More bandwidth means more money for Comcast.
If you don’t like the policy, switch provider.
